As our third season of broadcasting comes to an end, we would like to boast – sorry, recap – just how bloody well we are doing. This is essentially like a Round Robin that your mad old Nan would send… if your mad old Nan had a national award and 20,000 listeners a week.
We Won an Award…
I don’t think we’ve mentioned it, have we?
After being nominated for a second year running, we won the Judge’s Award for ‘Best Football Podcast’ at the prestigious Football Blogging Awards at Old Trafford in November. We beat competition from The Sun, Bob Mortimer and James Buckley. It was such an amazing night, an incredible honour and a genuine shock… hence Tom’s acceptance speech.
Thanks to everyone that voted to get us nominated – no mean feat when you think about how many football podcasts there are out there – and thanks to the judges for voting for us, and that.
Asmir Begovic’s ‘Season of Sport’ Podcast.
We were recently asked by Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic to appear as guests on his new podcast to talk about Fantasy Football. Ash and Tom went to his studio in Victoria and had a great time talking to the big man about the UK’s fastest growing pastime. Such a great bloke.
The podcast will be released in early July.
Once again, we’ve had some incredible guests on the podcast this season.
As we grow in popularity we get a lot of requests from lovely LOVELY people to be guests on the pod. We are sorry that we can’t get around to having everyone on, but we feel that being a little bit more selective (and doing podcasts with just the 3 of us when we can – before Craig swans off to the 'I'm a Celeb' jungle again) are more important. So we have picked the cream-of-the-crop to appear as guests this season. We also have an incredible list of guests lined-up for next season already… watch (listen) to this space.
Moving into Fashion
We were asked to write a column by Fashion Beans, the number 1 website for Men’s Fashion and Style in the UK, on fashionable footballers. Obviously the Fashion Beans guys know style when they see (hear) it, and knew who to call upon for content for their 5 million online readers. Below is a link to the article...
We’d like to thank our brand partners, friends and supporters alike:
Football Manager, The Odds Bible, Ron De Jeremy Rum, The Football Daily, Badger Ales, The FBA’s, FantasyYIRMA, Play Togga, The Carl Donnelly and Chris Martin Podcast and The Football Annual for their support and love this season.
- Extra Big Shout Out to New Amsterdam Vodka and The Social Partners for hooking us up with exclusive tickets to the VIP Box at Selhurst Park to watch the mighty Crystal Palace – as you can see from the below picture, Doc Brown was ecstatic to finally meet his comedy idol, Tom.
Here’s to an even bigger 2017/18 season!
